Juniors

Jiu-Jitsu for ages 10–12: stronger technique, stronger character

Our Juniors class in Boca Raton is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for ages 10 to 12, the bridge between kids classes and teens. Students sharpen technique, learn to roll with control and build resilience and teamwork, in a structured class with clear expectations and plenty of encouragement.

Pre-teens are ready for more detail. In Juniors we break techniques into clear steps, introduce positional sparring and teach students how to learn from mistakes without losing confidence.

It is also an age when friendships and habits form. We pay attention to how students treat each other, and we use the mat to practice respect, honesty and self-control.

Growing up on the mat

Pre-teens train with a clear code: tap early, never use force to hurt and respect partners of every size. Instructors choose partners carefully and step in when play gets too rough. Feel free to ask about how we handle conflict between students.

How to start

Tell us your child's age and any martial arts or sports experience. Ten- to twelve-year-olds train together in Juniors.

  2. Come to class

Your child will learn one technique and try it with a partner. Beginners are paired with patient training partners.

  3. Choose your next step

Ask the instructor whether Juniors or the teens class is the better next step as your child grows.

Frequently asked questions

Is my 10-year-old ready for Juniors?
Most 10-year-olds are. If your child has trained in Little Champions, our instructors will tell you when to move up. New students are welcome and we will find the right fit in a free trial.

Yes, and that helps everyone. Instructors pair students thoughtfully by size, experience and maturity.
